Journey To Mecca opens at The Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History

On Thursday January 14th Journey to Mecca opened at the Smithsonian Institution's Museum of Natural History in Washington DC at the Samuel C. Johnson IMAX theatre. The film is scheduled to play at the museum through the summer. To celebrate the arrival of the film in Washington, the ambassadors of Saudi Arabia (His Excellency Adel A. Al-Jubeir), the United Arab Emirates (His Excellency Yousef Al Otaiba) and Morocco (His Excellency Aziz Mekouar) hosted a gala premiere on the eve of the film's opening.

Among other dignitaries in attendance at the premiere were General Colin Powell; Congresswoman Louise Slaughter (D-NY); former Secretary of Homeland Security Michael Chertoff; former Saudi ambassador Prince Turki Al-Faisal; President of the Middle East Institute and former ambassador to Pakistan, Wendy J. Chamberlin; Vice Chair of the board of directors for the Muslim Women's Fund Sarwat Malik; the film's director/co-writer Bruce Neibaur; the film's co-star Moroccan born Hassam Ghancy; the film's producers Cosmic Picture and SK Films, multi-Academy Award winner and executive producer Jake Eberts; numerous ambassadors from all over the Muslim world; executives from National Geographic and the National Science Foundation; and the CEO of the Association for Science and Technology Centers, Bud Rock.
